1) Our Back Story and how All About Parenting has changed over time

In the past 5 years the All About Parenting team have organised over 2000 free seminars, conferences and intensive workshops for more than 250,000 parents from around the world.

It might look like we’ve come a long way, but what we have achieved so far is very little compared to what we want to do in the next 10 years.

Three years from now, we want to be operating in more than 30 countries. We realize that it’s a pretty crazy objective for a team as small as ours, but that just spurs us on even more.

Our vision is to inspire a critical mass of parents around the world to learn All About Parenting – then inspire other parents to do the same. 

Unfortunately, schooling doesn’t always prepare us for day-to-day life. We’ve ended up believing that there is no need or it’s not normal to learn about how to raise a fulfilled child.

There’s nothing that impacts as much on our lives as the parent-child relationship (a.k.a. parenting). This is why we’ve decided to make it our team’s mission.

We want to make parents around the world feel that learning about the parent-child relationship (parenting) is as normal as taking driving lessons before getting behind the wheel.

We don’t think it’s fair that you spend more time learning how to drive than you do about raising a child who is, after all, a future adult.

Still, perhaps the most satisfying work in developing All About Parenting as an organisation is seeing that what we created in Romania is becoming popular abroad and is changing the lives of parents who don’t speak Romanian, Poles, Canadians, Brits, Germans, Russians and, last but not least, Azeris.

Meet our Lead Trainer, Patrick Ney

Patrick Ney is the father of 2 wonderful girls and is one of the most active parenting experts in Poland. 

Patrick is the Lead Trainer at All About Parenting, the only parenting methodology based on the latest research in the science of motivation, such as Self-Determination Theory. He has several international accreditations as a Facilitator, Coach and Trainer.

What we want to achieve with All About Parenting, moving forward

And this is where you come in.

2) The type of Operations Manager we’re looking for and how they’ll contribute to changing many generations of parents to come

The person we are looking for has already done similar work i.e. they’ve developed businesses in North America and have sound knowledge of US culture. They’ve achieved outstanding results and can provide evidence to prove this.

Our business strategy is heavily based on online marketing. This is why we need you to have a good understanding of what digital marketing means and be familiar with online advertising platforms like Facebook Ads, as well as online software for building websites, photo and video editing, autoresponders, etc.

It’s more than likely that you won’t actually use this software yourself because you’ll form a team that carries through these objectives. However, you will need to know how online advertising works, i.e. what’s possible and what’s not, how long it takes, what’s difficult and what’s easier to get done, and so on. Otherwise, it’s going to be more difficult for you to lead the team and check off the various criteria.

Our objectives are clear and simple. Though simple doesn’t mean easy.

When we start up in a new country, our first “target” is to gain fifty new clients each and every month. For this, we mainly rely on building up a system that brings in steady results rather than “a big launch”. If you think about it, have you ever heard about the “launch” of a successful start-up? Didn’t think so. 🙂

For us to reach fifty new customers a month, we’ll be holding free webinars that make the participants go “wow”. These webinars already exist in Romania. You’ll be responsible for taking them and transferring them to North America, where they’ll be presented by a charismatic, native-speaker trainer.

A small percentage of the participants at the webinar will want to buy the All About Parenting program. Naturally, in order to meet this objective, you’ll need to do a few calculations and a bit of reverse engineering. Ask yourself, if the aim is to add 50 new clients a month, how many participants do you need at each webinar?! How many signups do you need to have at each webinar (because of course, not everybody who signs up will take part)?! How many people do you need to reach with advertising and what budget do you need, etc.

The second essential thing when we go to a new country is building the team. “Great things in business are never done by one person.” [Steve Jobs]  So you’ll need to build a team to make these webinars happen week after week. You’ll also need to recruit an agency/freelancer to build a Facebook ads campaign and get fantastic results, recruit some exceptional people for customer care and you might even need to find a new trainer for that country. We need you to have experience hiring and firing and building a team.

The third most important thing for us when we go into a new country are the procedures. We don’t want to be wasting time on trying to re-invent the wheel. We want to take the procedures and KPI that already work in Romania and adapt and transfer them to the new country.

For example, the customer care team uses Zendesk and we have amalgamated almost all our channels of communication in one place (email, WhatsApp, messenger, Facebook, Instagram) so that we can reply consistently and promptly. The critical number for customer care is 60. We respond within 60 minutes to all written messages sent during working hours. This is something we are very proud of in Romania and want to take this into the other countries where we have customer care teams.

Another example of our procedures is the daily huddle. Every team has a daily 10–15-minute morning meeting to set out the priorities and ensure that things are going in the right direction. Outside the meeting, each team member organizes their time as they want, provided they achieve results.

We don’t micromanage – we’re not interested in where in the world you are, what time you start work, when you finish or whether you take a 2–3-hour break in the middle of the day to go for a walk with your kids. All we’re interested in is the 3 objectives above and that you stay focused (e.g., that this be your main job).

We want to make it clear , right off the bat,that you will be starting from scratch. You’ll need to make plans, create a strategy and then put it into practice because there’ll be nobody to tell you what needs doing day to day. If you don’t like working independently, it’s going to be tough. But if you’re the kind of person who likes to take initiative, this works in your favor because you’ll have much more freedom to decide.

How we know it works

Since March 2020 (now more than 12 months), myself and the team of All About Parenting trainers have held live webinars every day in Romania (yes, even on weekends) with a minimum of 500 participants. This means having at least 1000 people signed up for each webinar. Sometimes, we’ve even had 5000+ for a single webinar.

Keeping the communication fires burning has taken a colossal effort from the whole team, sending out hundreds of segmented emails and of course, doing Facebook Ads campaigns. Even we can’t believe what we’ve achieved. Some of our colleagues at the office even put up pictures from concerts at huge arenas so we could all understand just how many people in total were taking part in our webinars.people in the office even took pictures at the Untold arena so that we could all understand just how many people have taken part in our webinars.

What’s more, we’ve put the same strategy into place inPoland where nobody had heard of us previously and held 3 webinars a week. We’re now at 5 per week with about 500 people signed up for each webinar. For us Romanians, Polish is a completely alien language. It doesn’t look anything like the French, English or German we learn in school.

Our Polish team successfully picked up the strategy from Romania and implemented it accordingly in Poland with roughly the same conversion rate (signup rate, show-up rate, etc.). Sometimes they exceeded our results.This gives us the faith that our strategy works and that we will be successful in implementing it in other countries, with the help of the right people.

After you apply

All applications will receive a response, either yea or nay. If you get the thumbs up, we’ll ask you to book a 30-minute online interview.

If, after this interview, we consider that you are the right person for the job, then you’ll have a detailed 2-hour interview. But it’s a different kind of interview. You’ll be interviewing our company CEO, Ștefan, and you can ask him any question you need an answer to. 

Then, you’ll build a strategy on how to reach the first target of 50 customers a month and set targets for the first 3 months before presenting it to Ștefan.

If everything looks good, we’ll talk about an attractive remuneration package, with a monthly sum and success fee.

Then we’ll put the objectives that we’ve set into our OKR software and we’ll ask you to update these every week. If performance is on target (or close to target), then it will be the start of a beautiful working relationship.
